Maria asks…

would Edmonton trade Hall and Eberle for Evgeni Malkin straight up?

Malkins a great player, top 5 for sure. and Is seriously doubt hall and eberle will ever become as dominant as Malkin.

but as a pens fan, eberle and hall would give the pens so much more even spreaded scoring

eberle and crosby would be lethal along the boards and cycling the puck for offensive zone pressure galore.

and Hall and Staal together would be magical aswell.

again, outside of sid and malkin, mo one has any real elite level skill with the puck.

Kunitz – Crosby – Eberle

Hall – Staal – Tangradi

Cooke – Letestu – Bennet

would be a very balanced and top notch team heading into the playoffs.

remember Eberle is very clutch where ever he plays, team canada wjc and team canada world senior mens team in april, 1st teenager on there roster since jonathan toews back in 07.

and Taylor Hall, the 2010 1st overall pick. He is perhaps the most decorated playoff performer in Canadian Hockey League History.

2 time OHL PLAYOFF MVP AND 2 time Memorial Cup MVP (the only player to win the award twice, let alone back to back, before they were even drafted)

and despite canada losing to the u.s. at the world juniors, Hall still scored 2 goals and an assist in there loss, he scored 6 goals, 6 assists in 6 games.

infact similar draftee’s had nowhere near Hall’s level of production for Canada “BEFORE” being drafted, tavares had 4 goals, 1 assist in 8gms. Stamkos had 3 assists in 8 games, gagner 2 assists in 7 gm, Toews 4 goals in 7 games.

Halls pre-draft playoff production in junior is similar to Crosby’s and his world junior stats are even better.

Its what makes Hall so special, I Have absolutely no doubt that he is going to win a Conn Smythe Playoff MVP trophy when his career is said and done. EVEN if he only pans out to be nothing more than a 50 point player in the regular season. He just has a whole other extra gear he kicks into when the going gets tough, when the game means alot more, he’s a man possessed when a championship is on the line, nuff said. I like his potential. like Bob Mckenzie said “the canadian pavel bure”

not perhaps but rather, yes Hall is the most dominant playoff performer in CHL history, I have no trouble making that statement, he’s just too godd when it matters.

that being said of course, its all hypothetical whether there clutch performance would translate to nhl playoff success. I sure as heck wouldn’t bet against it though.

I know MALKIN is capable of that conn msythe “ilk” but man he just isnt the same player he was since 08.

largely do to the fact that he plays with the worst possible linemates every year and a coach who can’t use his best asset properly on the powerplay. that laser shot from the half walls of course.

both Crosby and Malkin suffer from having mad linemates because of there massive salaries (worth it though)

I just think both would be happy being “the man” on there team and having elite wingers to play with.

Hemsky – Malkin – Penner

Lander – Paajarvi – Pitlick

Hall – Crosby – Kunitz

Eberle – Staal – Tangradi

Malkin is obviously the best player in this deal, no question.
to the dynasty, a new chapter.

ARE YOU THAT FUCKING STUPID? I MEANT ON THE PENGUINS ROSTER, DON’T FUCKING PLAY DUMB WITH ME JUST BECAUSE YOUR TEAM GOT AN.AL F.UC.KED HARD BY THE PENS IN THE 09 PLAYOFFS, LOL, YOU F.U.CKING LOSER.
THE NEW DYNASTY CHAPTER, AWWWWWW WHATS THE MATTER, DID IT HURT TO LOSE 4 OF THE LAST 5 GAMES IN THE 09 PLAYOFFS AFTER WINNING THE FIRST 2? AWWW POOR, POOR LITTLE BABY, BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME YOU FAG.GOT.
Its pretty obvious you a very uneducated person.

your throwing blanket statements out that are not even remotely close to what I have asked.

you assumed I was saying no other team has good players outside of pittsburgh.

I doubt you wer ebeing sarcastic, your use of words make you sound very uninformed, bitter and way off base of the topic at hand.

If you came here just to stir $hit up than it shows your age, more importantly, your maturity level.

never assume, you tend to make an a$$ out of your self, sarcasm or no sarcasm. Your simply put. A bitter moron.

Chris answers:

I’d say Hall + Eberle or MPS and Souray for Malkin would be intriguing for both side. Hall and Crosby would have some real chemistry and Staal (if healthy) could be a more than sufficient second line cay going back to center. Souray going to the pens would get him off Edmonton’s hands and he’d be asset to the Pens power play. Malkin woulld instantly become the face of the franchise and likely the team’s best forward since Messier. The big question is would Pittsburgh want to move Malkin? He’s as good a player as there is in the league, but I have feeling either him or Staal would become expendable a if quality winger(s) to complement Sid becomes availible.

Sandy asks…

Can someone answer this over killed question- does he like me- im desperate here?

Do you think that he has a crush on me? I play on a all guys hockey team and here are the things he does: He defends me when a guy knocks me down and kinda gets into a minni fight, calls me “my girl”, has a nickname for me, always cheers me on( even if its a team practice scrimmage thing and hes on the opposite team), pair up with me for drills and wants to be in the same line as me during the games and other stuff. I dnt know if hes doing this b/c he feels bad for me cuz im kinda shy and im the only girl or if bets r going on between the other guys, but if you have any suggestions on how to handle this or if you feel he likes me so yea im desperate b/c im falling for him. plz help- im really desperate!! I hope that i dnt just jinx myself
can anymore people answer this question. Maybe some guys?

Chris answers:

It looks like you have a class act flirt on your hands. In other words, he more likely than not likes you!!! But it sounds like he’s waiting for you to make a move. I would wait til your alone just in case he’s embarrased in front of his friends, and ask him out or at least talk to him…be flirty back and see how he reacts.
Hope this helps!

Donald asks…

How many 100 point scorers will there be this year?

the big 3 obviously, but I like to think that Ryan Getzlaf will break the mark this up coming season.

top 5 best bets are

Getzlaf who has to 35 goal wingers to work with, 34 goals and 73 assists is not impossible for this 24 year old monster
Spezza (could’ve had 3 already if those pesky injuries stayed away)
Staal (hit the mark at age 21)
Semen ( was on pace for 104 points last season, leading scorer for a bit)
Vinny Lecavalier ( averaged 100 a season 2 seasons before last years where they had no offensive d-men to rush the puck up, had a broken wrist and a dislocated shoulder which from all reports healed up nicely over the summer, so I expect Stammer, St. Louis and Lecavalier to break out again next season, especially Stamkos)
Ilya Kovalchuk could break the mark if he learns to pass more often.
And who could forget Joe thornton, the guy who had 240 points in 2 seasons just a couple of years ago, thats a 120 point a season average, he could still break it if Setoguchi keeps progressing well.
Datsuck too, who has back to back 97 point seasons.

In reality there is only about 4 or 5 a year so injuries will play a factor in that, and poor linemates such as Staal who hasnt had legit 1st line wingers since his 100 point season.

My Darkhorses are Zach Parise, Jeff Carter, Marian Hossa, Nicklas Backstrom, Heatley and Alfredsson (alfy because maybe he’ll benefit from Heatley and Spezza breaking out again, besides he has hit it before.

Talent to score 100 in a season but are either to young or just not quite enough endurance are, or perhaps not enough secondary scorin or not enough offensive defensman to help rush the puck up the ice as a result have to work twice as hard for instance like the T-Bay Lightning.

Anze Kopitar, Jonathan Toews, Paul Stastny, Gaborik, Patrick Kane, Steve Stamkos, John Tavares, David Krejci, Mike Richards ( I feel Richards could score 35 goals, 65 assists, but his willingness to play defense almost all the time will hinder what he is really capable of, He’ll be a 90 point selke winner in his prime, I’d rather it be that way than being a no defense 100 player like Semin, if he reaches it)

The top 5 players who have the talent and hockey sense but lack the speed that they used to have or just dont have to reach 100 are:

Teemu Selanne
Alex Kovalev
Paul Kariya
Nylander
Brad Boyes ( this guy is absolutely horrible on his skates but has the wrist and slap shot of a 50 goal scorer, and the passing abilities to run a powerplay, he is just a plain gawd awful skater)

Predicted top 5 scorers next season are:

Sidney Crosby: 124 points, 37 goals, 87 assists
Evgeni Malkin: 117 points, 44 goals, 73 assists
Ovechkin: 111 points, 58 goals, 53 assists
Ryan Getzlaf: 107 points, 34 goals, 73 assists
Spezza finally plays a full 82 games schedule in his career and
scores about 35 goals and 70 assists, was on pace to be an assist per game player two season in a row, so 70 assists is being generous, he has no trouble scoring 33-35 goals now also, so yeah I think Spezza who is alot older now is primed for a Lecavalier/Hossa like breakout season, we all know he has the talent and stats to reach it, its his Health that needs to stay intact.

Chris answers:

Very well written.
Sid the Kid, Geno, and Ovie will all obviously hit 100 and beyond/

and THANK YOU for mentioning the big 3 of ottawa. They are all capable of reaching 100 plateau easily. Just two years ago, they were all in the top 15, and would have reached 90+, even 100+ if they wernet plagued with injuries. And despite heatley wanting to move, shall he stay in ottawa, he will play GREAT. He will have his eyes locked on making Team Canada , and will try to improve all of his aspects, and will try hard to play well. If that happens, the CASH line shall flow, and spez, alfie and heater should all reach loads of points.

Other players that are clearly capable are datsyuk, but i kind of have doubts as to him reaching it for some reason. But he clearly has what it takes to reach it.
Kovalchuk, especially if he plays like he did for the second half of the season,
thornton, despite a dissapointing season last year,
Vinny Lecavalier, and St.louis are both capable, especially seeing that their PP will be improven significantly with meszaros and hedman on the blue.
Ryan getzlaf looks good to reach it, especially if ryan and perry both play really well.
And also semin and backstrom, especially seeing they play with ovie.
Adn as for the younglings, i completely agree. All of them CAN make it, its just that they wont reach it thisseason.
